Limitations of Step Down Transformers in Electric Appliances

We all are familiar with the name of transformers but did you know that there are two types of transformers used in the industry that is step up transformers and step down transformers. Step up transformers are used to convert the 220 volt current into a high voltage current but other transformer is used to convert the current of 220 volt to 110 volts.

We can easily change the voltage of current with the help of transformers according to the demand of the industry. As we know that there are always limitations comes with the advantages and the same thing happens with the electric step down transformers.

There are several uses and amplification methods for these devices and one of the most common methods is that there is used only single winding which is not sufficient for its working. There are two separate taps attached on the winding and sometimes only one tap is there with the winding of electric isolations.

In some countries, different between ground current and normal socket current is about 220 volts which is a serious problem among the users. This is because as it is important to utilize only a fixed amount of the current flow for the specific usage.

With the expensive equipment this phenomenon is important and if we did not do that then this will cause short circuits in the devices. These transformers have only one outlet and thus this is not easy to make them working for several purposes.

There are some different types of transformers utilized by high definition in the equipments so that they can be used for a long time. There are many sockets, plug panels and windings present for these types of equipments with which step down transformers are still popular among the electric appliances.
